Simone Castillo, President and Founder of Velvet Canary Advisors, has spent the last two decades excelling as a dynamic champion transforming business fundamentals into actionable change for Fortune 100s, global-NGOs and small and medium-sized companies.
Throughout her career, Simone has cultivated a proven track record of helping for profit companies cut the fat, saving them invaluable time and money. These industry standouts include KPMG, NBC Universal and venture-backed startups based in southern Africa and the Caribbean. Simone also empowers teams to become fiscally fearless via operational strategies she first formulated for mission-driven executives at the United Nations, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and USAID.
Simone’s expertise as a trusted growth advisor and business strategist was first formulated in primary school where she joined Girl Scouts. Not only did this enriching extracurricular provide her with exposure to world cultures, business development and budgeting, but it also stressed the importance of unapologetic leadership. After this and many years of experience, Simone launched Velvet Canary Advisors to empower BIPOC entrepreneurs and changemakers to take up space in all business environments and equip them with the essential financial resilience tools to achieve any of their goals.
Simone received her Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School and her Bachelor of International Relations & Economics from Tufts University.
